| Are you using these methods to promote your articles?
If not, you are missing out on some easy ways to get more traffic. Ways that require no additional work on your part once they are set up. |
1. Free Ebook
Compile all of your articles into a fr*e ebook and give it away.
Set it up on its own page. Include a description and a request form requiring people to enter their name and email address before they can download it. In this way, you can distribute your ebook and build a mailing list all at the same time.
Another idea is to offer your fr*e ebook to people who subscribe to your ezine. With the massive amount of ezines available on the Internet today, people more and more need a good incentive to subscribe to any particular one. Offering valuable fr*e information is the perfect way to snag subscribers.
You should also set up an autoresponder to use for updates to your ebook. Put this form on the ebook download page, on the front page of the ebook itself, or on both. As you write more articles, add them to your ebook and send an email out letting people on the updates list know that a new version is available.
Allow other people to give it away as well and you will create a viral traffic wave that can continue for years to come.
2. Free Ecourse
Compile all of your articles into a fr*e ecourse and set it up on an autoresponder, one article per day. As with a fr*e ebook, put it on its own page with a description and request form.
Make sure that you include a removal link at the bottom of every single day of your ecourse. This will help prevent you becoming the victim of SP*M complaints.
3. Syndicate Your Articles
Website owners are always looking for ways to get fresh content for their sites. You can cash in on this need. All you have to do is provide the code snippet for them to use, then write articles to plug into the code. You can find free code for doing this at http://www.thesitewizard.com/netsyndic/index.shtml.
These three methods may seem easy, but start implementing them and you will experience a surge in traffic that will have your hit counters spinning. Get them set up and all that remains for you to do is write your articles and plug them in.

| You have got a great idea, and your website is now complete. You are ready to open for business but where are your customers? Simple – you are going to have to go out and get them. It sounds easy, but advertising can be a pitfall that can cripple many e-businesses.
There are several methods of advertising on the Internet. Some are free, some are low cost, while others are insanely expensive. The first thing you will need to look at is how much you are willing to pay for traffic, and how far your advertising dollar can go. One of the most effective, and cheapest, methods of advertising is through e-zines. There are thousands, if not millions of e-zines published every single day. The best way to approach e-zines for advertising is to join a couple that fit your product profile and that you find interesting. Most e-zines offer incentives to new businesses signing up, and will even run your ad for free just for subscribing. You can find many e-zines that offer ads for as little as a dollar. It is a fantastic way to reach thousands of people who are already interested in your type of business. In fact, you can utilize e-zines to promote your product for free, if you can write an informative article. E-zines are desperate for content, and will often offer to publish your article in exchange for a link back to your site. If you go this route, make sure that your article is informative and not just a sales pitch. For example, if your e-business deals with making money from home, an article about how working from home decreases stress would be very well received. You can rely more on making a good impression with the article and a simple link back, than a hard sell that might not even make into print. Link exchanges are another free alternative to costly advertising. Be prepared to get lost in the shuffle if you choose a popular site. The best way to make use of this method is by running your own link exchange from your site and offering a free posting in exchange for a link back to your site. My links page, for example, can be found at http://www.iscaweb.com/Links.html Targeted advertising is by far the best way to bring in traffic to your website. By using targeted key words, your customers are not just stumbling into your website. Half the work is already done by the key words. You just need to supply the information. Google Ad Words can be used very effectively as well as other targeted key word companies. Most of these operate on a pay per click basis, so you will need to research your key words and supply the best possible words to ensure a good cost-to-click ratio. Press releases are a great way to get the word out about your site and possibly create media buzz. While this method is more expensive than the above methods, it has the potential to bring in substantial traffic. Before sending out your release, make sure that it is formatted correctly and contains a powerful first paragraph. News editors are inundated daily and you do not want to get lost in the shuffle. When writing your press release, it is important to make it news worthy, instead of a plain announcement. Using our example above, if a recent study is released about stress management and working from home, it would be a perfect time to send out a press release that mentions the study and your business. Be prepared to receive phone calls and answer questions if your release is a hit. You don’t necessarily have to wait for an event to happen to send out your release. If all else fails, get creative! There are many ways to tie in your business to current events, all you need is a little imagination. We have covered just a couple of ways to effectively advertise your new or existing e-business. The best advice is to start wisely, plan your advertising budget accordingly and get the word out as effectively as possible. |

Google page rank counts! The higher your page rank number the higher you will rank in user searches. How do you find out your page rank? Download the Google toolbar here for Internet Explorer http://toolbar.google.com/T4/ or here for FireFox http://tools.google.com/firefox/toolbar/install.html.
Improve your page rank by encouraging other highly ranked websites in complementary businesses to link to yours and by developing content with a niche focus. Page rank is also affected by traffic numbers. A couple of ways you can improve traffic are pay-per-click advertising and posting articles on the web.
Your web image is at least as important as your personal image. You wouldn’t go out to meet a prospective client wearing a mishmash of styles and colours but many businesses have websites with tools that don’t work, tables and text that are out of alignment, old information, dated colours, and confusing navigation. Those things are bad enough but when an experienced web developer looks at the code on a website they often find a website that looks good but is not built to encourage search traffic.
Be prepared like the wise owl and make the job of marketing your business as easy as possible with a website that enhances your brand image and is technically sound and purrrr your way to success.

How is it that some people seem to have great success on the web without spending a huge amount of money? Is it unrealistic to think that you can make a living working on the web?
When faced with a seemingly overwhelming challenge it helps to break things down into bite-sized pieces.
Effective websites should include the following:
1. Your website needs to focus on a specific niche.
2. You need to do keyword research and although Google no longer gives weight to Meta keywords some of the other major search engines still do.
3. Your website should have the main keyword used throughout and each page should be written around 5-10 keywords that are tightly focused on that particular page’s topic.
4. Content is still King. Well written, focused content is crucial.
5. Meta titles need to include your keywords.
6. Organization of content should include headings and subtitles to make it easy for readers to scan the pages. Be sure to include your keywords in these headings as well.
7. Most people on the web are looking for information. If you don’t give them anything of value or entertain them, they will be gone, probably for good.
8. Use keywords in links whereever possible.
9. Include a call to action and, if possible, provide a Free tríal. You have to build trust before you can make a sale.
10. Check your website in various browsers (FireFox, Internet Explorer, etc.) to make sure it displays equally well in all.
11. Your personality is what attracts people to you so why would you create a generic website with all of the excitement of a flat glass of pop. Keep the content fresh so it has Fizz!
12. Most importantly, have realistic expectations of what you want to achieve with your website. With all the hype about overnight successes on the internet it’s difficult to put your results into perspective. If you expect instant success and it isn’t happening, it’s easy to become demoralized and quit before you reach your goal.
